This is a common complaint among babies.
The old cure was to get a person that was born after his or her father's death to blow his or her breath on the patient for three successive days while fasting.
(This cure is still practised in this district)

Get some garlic, chop it up very fine, and stew it slowly for hours in water. When cold bottle it, and drink some of it whenever an attack of coughing comes on.
