One Hallow_Eve some years ago there was an old blacksmith named McGowesh He got up early Hallow-Eve morning and when he opened the door he saw the black cock and the white cat crossing the field together. They did not return that night and his wife said to him, "James, there is something going to happen": and so there did. As they lay in bed that night a knock came to the door at about twelve o'clock and the blacksmith shouted out. "Who [?] there." and got the reply. "Its me". I want you to put a nail in a shoe." The blacksmith got up in a hurry and threw his clothes on him and when he came outside there were three men with a corpse in a coffin and one of the men took him by the arm but never spoke. He was put under the coffin with the three men and they marched him for six miles to the churchyard of Temple Kieran in the Townland of Lismullen and when inside the churchyard gate they left down the coffin and pointed to him to go back but never
