   and, she is asked which thing she would like best. She would say one of them, and whatever one of the "gates" had that one she would go behind her. When all the the others are caught, one of them catches the person (the "gate") whose side she is on, and the next one catches her, and so on. They pull and when anyone falls on either side, that side does not win. Whatever side does not fall wins the game.
   "Give me the loan of your griddle," is another good game, and we play it inside when the day is wet. All the children except two, join hands in the form of a circle. The two that do not join hands, go, one to each end of the circle, and one of them says, "Give me the loan of your griddle," and the other one answers "There is a very big hole in the middle." The first one says again, "Give me the loan of your pan," the other one answers, "Follow me round this way as fast as you can." She runs under the arms of those in the circle. The other one runs after her and when she catches her, she tells some other child to go to the end, and the same thing happens again.
