  2. Long ago football was played different to the way it is played nowadays.
    There was a football match in Carnaville in Dan Halton's field. The teams that played at this match were Tierworker parish and Newcastle parish. Twenty one men played on every side that was forty two entirely. The way the team picked was there were five backs, five forwards, six centre fields, two wings mens, a goals man two saving the points.
