    I pray to the Lord my soul to save,
    Lady of the branch and Lord of the flower,
    Sweet Jesus be with me now and at my dying hour.

    As I lay my head to sleep,
    I give my soul to God to keep,
    If any evil Spirit comes to me,
    O! blessed Virgin Mary waken me.

    As I cut the cross of Christ upon my breast.
    I turn my face to Jesus Christ,
    O! Jesus and his Holy name,
    Keep me from shame, blame and scandal.

    As I was walking over the Holy Land.
    I met the Blessed Virgin Mary coming,
    Seven Mass Books in her hands,
