    I met a land commissoner last Spring upon the road,

    About four years ago the lands of Gravelstown were divided and a man named Seamus O'Brien who went there for work made up the the following song about a certain field in the farm called the
    "Crocan Bán" ._
    I met a land commissoner last Spring upon the road,
    He said, "If you are idle lad, step of from your abode,
    And start to build those ditches for a fair and decent pay,
    So buckle up your breeches and to-morrow move away.
    The foreman he will meet you a little after dawn,
    With pleasant smile h'll greet you down by the "Crocan Bán".
