  1. St Patrick blessed the (well) in Carlanstown on his journey from Meath to Cavan.
    It is a very nice well. The water is cold in winter and in Summer. The stones are red in it and the people say that it was his blood that made them red.
    It is situated in a field in front of the school. There is an old lane going down to it.
    There are many other wells in Meath of the same name.

  2. Only five can play the game.
    You get four stones and one person stands at each stone with one in the middle for a fool.
    Each one runs from stone to stone at the signal.
    The fool tries to get to a stone and when he reaches it the person caught out of this place must be the fool in the middle.
    It is an outdoor game.
