  1. Carriga is the name of the townland I live in. Moynalty is the parish, and Kells is the barony. There are nine families in it, and about thirty people. The most common name in the townland is Finegan. There are three slated houses, and six thatched houses. There was much more houses in it long ago than there is now. There are ten houses in ruins. The townland is not mentioned in any song or saying. The land is hilly, rocky, and light. There are no rivers or streams in it. There is three people over seventy living in it.
