  1. Connor Mc Cabe was coming home one night from a card play. He lived in the townland of Tegman, Co. Monaghan. When he was coming home he had to pass a fort, and as he was passing it he met a green coated man. He asked him would he do a message for him, and Connor said he would. Then he gave Connor a note and told him go to the neighbouring fort, and he would meet a red coated man, and to give him the note. He gave him two gold coins when he was going. Connor did as he was told, and went to the fort. He met the red coated man and gave him the note.
