    Long ago there lived a man who was famous for weaving. His name was John Carolan from Tullyatton, Mullagh, Kells, Co. Meath, and he was my great grand-father. He used to weave linen, and frieze from flax with a loom. He was a great weaver, and a lot of people came to him. He would sell the cloth in the town as well.
    Thatching is also famous in this part of the country. First the straw is well pulled,
