  1. Once upon a time, a fox came to a house at night to steal hens. The hens were up on a loft, and the fox got in on the loft and he killed all the hens that were on it. When he was going away, he went down through the loft and there was a horse in the houses, and the fox could not get out of the house. Then he lay down behind the horse so that the man would think in the morning, that the horse gave him a kick and killed him. When the man of the house came out in the morning, he thought the fox was dead, and he lifted the fox and left him out-side the door and went for a spade to bury him, but when he came back the
