On Christmas Eve, the people put holly on every window in the house. The youngest child in the house lights the candles on Christmas Eve, and on Christmas morning.
The children hang up their stockings for Santa Claus. People kill a goose or a turkey and stuff her with loaf bread, onions, and butter. If you brought a black ass to the well with you on Christmas Eve at twelve o'clock the ass would go on his two knees and bray, and the well would turned into wine.

- May day
On May day, we make a May alter for the Blessed Virgin. We pull May flowers and put them in a vase and put it before the picture of the Blessed Virgin along with a little lamp, with a red globe.
Patrick Gearty, Druminiskin - Mary O Malley from Carriga, was home from a boarding school, and she brought a girl with her to spend the holiday with her.(continues on next page)
