  1. Paradise is not as nice, as the townland I live in.
The ladies there are beautiful, and it's thronged with valliant men.
No songster ever sang so sweet.
As the music of the rill,
That floats away, both night and day.
    Round Carrick lovely hill.
    2 verse
    The scenery is far surpassed,
    The country all around,
Search Meath, Kill Dare, and everywhere.
    It's equal can't be found,
Just take a view, round sweet Peru,
    And from that to Lavey-strand,
There's no lass there, that can compare
with the maids round Carrick lovely land.
    3 verse
The sun-shines down with splendour on Screbog's lovely rocks,
The huntsman blows his horn there,
    And hunts the crafty fox,
He sails from there to Drogheda, Kells, Navan, and Clongill.
