  1. The landlord that owned this district long ago, was named Pollock, He lived up near Kells. His tenants had to pay him a very high rent.
    He owned the estate until the Land Commission bought it out in nineteen twenty two, and then he owned it no longer. Some of the tenants were so poor that they could not pay the rent to him, and he came to the house and sent them to the poor-house in Kells.
    After that, the rent was lowered, and it was paid to the Land Commissiion since that. The landlord gathered his rent every three months, and the Land Commission gathers it only every year.
