  1. About four years ago there lived a man called "Gentleman Reilly. He got sick and went to hospital. The day after he came home from hospital he was sitting beside the fire and he fell asleep. His son was out in the fields and when he came in he found his father in the fire, and he died shortly afterwards. Some days after his death his son saw lights beside the house and went over to where they were. Suddenly the lights disappeared and he saw his father in the darkness. Every night after that he saw the ghost. After a while he sold the house to another man. This man also saw the ghost and went mad. Every night the ghost is said to go down a lane which leads to the house. This happened at Leitrim about three miles from Moynalty in the County Meath.
