  1. There is an old fort in Williamstown in the parish of Carnaross, about two miles from Kells in the County Meath. There was a family of Danes reared in this old fort, and it is said that they died there also. There is a tunnel leading from this fort to Dulane graveyard, about one mile in distance. This fort is on the estates of Stole Garnet who is dead about fifty years. It is now on the lands of Patrick Carpenter. This fort is on the road side. It is a mound of earth and it is circular in shape. The entrance to this fort is now blocked by fallen earth. There is also two more forts quite near this one.
