A penny or twopence to bury the Wren"New years day is the first day of the year and it is the eight day after Christmas. It is known as "little Christmas", and is nearly as important as Christmas day. Candles are lighted in some places as on Christmas eve. On the twelth day twelve candles are lighted and every one gets a candle. It is believed that the person that has the candle that burned out first will die first.- Collector
