- The field behind Kilskyre school is called Killivila. There is supposed to be gold hidden in this field. Long ago there was three old brothers living in Kilskyre. One of the men's names was Tom. One night there was a voice hleard at the window saying "Get up Tom and go to Killivila for there under the flat stone there is a crock of gold hid, but there is a black cat minding it and every night he goes to a well to get a drink at twelve oclock and he is fifteen minutes away. This black cat is very wicked and if he catches anyone he will tear them to bits, but bring a cat with you and if the black cat comes back while you are there throw your cat at him, and fly for your life and let the two cats fight. The voice went and the three brothers stood looking at other in amazement. Tom wanted to go but the two other brothers would not let him, they said that it was better loose the gold and save his life. The (th) same voice came to the window for three nights, but still the brothers would not let Tom go. So the gold is hid in that field yet and the black cat minding it.
