    cat. they would pare the ends of the sticks. Then they would look for a flat stone. This stone was called a "granny". Then they would place the cat on top of it and hit it with the dog. There would be another child standing a little distance back and if she caught the stick she would have to hit the next time.
    When the dog would hit the cat it would rise off the "granny".
