    used to make all classe of nails. Horse nails of all sizes. And all cllasses of nails for building contractors. Even pig rings, staples and hooks for down pipes and gutters. They was a large trade of nails throughout the country.

  2. Up to fifty years ago there was a tannery in Kells, in Newmarket Street, in the yard which is owned and occupied by Mr. McEntee, this tannery gave employment to thirty people.
    In Market Street also there was a chandlery where millions of candles were manufactured, this also gave employment to twenty or thirty people Olden times were worse than the times we have now.
