- There are few Round Towers in Ireland. There is a Round Tower in Kells. It was one hundred feet high when it was built, and it sank twenty feet. It is situated in Cannon St. Some say that a man walked around the top of the Tower playing a melodeon.

- The Tower of Kells is one of the biggest towers around. It is also a very ancient Tower. In the olden days the monks used to hide in this Tower away from the soldiers. There is a small door up fairly high. The way the monks used to get up was to get a fairly large ladder and climb up and when they reached the top they would pull the ladder up after them. The sacred vessels were supposed to have been kept in this Tower long ago.
