    It is told that every place the ass lay down St. Patrick built a church.
    God told him in a dream that where the ass lay down, he wished him to build a church there.

  2. There is an old graveyard at the Spire of Loyd. It is no longer in use. There are many old headstones all around, but they are nearly all covered with grass.
    On one occasion a strange woman came to Kells and took lodgings in a man's house by the name of Mr. Maguire.
    After two days the woman took to her bed and died. Mr. Maguire had her buried in the grave-yard near the Spire.
    One night Mr. Maguire was coming home by the graveyard when who should he meet but the woman that was dead.
    She stopped him and said, "get four men
