  1. (continued from previous page)
    When in bed at night:-
"Here I be on my right side,
O blessed Jesus! be my guide,
If any harm come to me,
    O blessed Jesus! waken me."-
Transcribed by a member of our volunteer transcription project.
  2. An old Prayer
As I looked over the Holy Land,
I saw the Blessed Virgin Mary coming,
Seven Mass Books in her hand,
    Seven bells ringing,
    Seven candles lighting,
    Shut the gates of Hell,
    Open the gates of Heaven,
And let my poor soul in,
    For evermore. Amen.
    On taking holy water:-
Uisge na grásta is gile ná an sneachta,
Go nglanaidh sé m'anam agus mo chorp.
    Ámen
    Íosa
    For a departed soul:-
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h-anam.
Transcribed by a member of our volunteer transcription project.
