  1. There is in possession of Rev. Father McManus Kells an old and probably valuable ring. It is made of white gold and bears on its inside the inscription "Ave Maria." On the outside is a serpent's head and a vacant space where there was formerly a stone.
    This ring was dug up from a depth of six feet, when men were preparing at Screen a field, to be used for football.
    On one occasion in this same field Father McManus lost his treasure and searched and searched but could not find it. As a last resource he asked St. Anthony to get it for him, and immediately saw it almost twice its real size glittering in the grass.
