  1. Dan Malone was a very disobedient boy who lived with his parents in a little mud cabin at the foot of a mountain. One night his mother gave him porridge for his supper and he refused to take it. Getting up in a temper he walked out and sat down at the back of a fence near the house. Suddenly he saw a lot of boys kicking footballs in the field. The next thing he heard was a voice shouting "Who will kick the ball" and a score of voices replied, "Who but Dan Malone who would not eat
