  1. Once upon a time a protestant gentleman, some say Mr Rowley (others say it was'nt he) got a very bad toothache.
    The pain was so severe and so long-continued that he had like to lose his mind with it. For nights and nights he could not get a wink of sleep.
    Some kind friend told him that the water in Kieran well cured toothache, and offered to fetch him some of it.
