    obtain nothing but froth.
    A certain farmer's wife could not churn for weeks. One day she happened to look up at the top of the cows byre and she saw a spancel used to prevent the cow from kicking or putting her foot into the milking can. This was thrown over the top of the shed. It was supposed that it was being used in the working of the charm.
