  1. The most harmful weed on our farm is the Chicken Weed because it spreads rapidly and impoverishes the land. The Yard and Preise are also very bad weeds.
The Yard always grows on very rich land.
The Yard has a cure of sores. The Preise cures the yellow jaundice.
The Preise has much the shape of a flower. It is a tall weed with little yellow flowers on the top of it.
Nearly every one has garlic growing in his garden because it is a cure for colds in horses, also for black-leg in cattle.
There is also a plant called Lambs Quarter and it generally grows in wheat or oats and when the corn is thrashed the seed of it is separated from the corn into the chaff. Then if fowl eat it they are poisoned.
