- I live in the townland of Curraghtown near Navan in the Co Meath. In my townland there is a field and in the field is a little wood up on a small hill. This spot is called the Rathín A crock of gold is supposed to be buried in this Rathín. Long ago an old man owned this gold and the fairies made him bury it there.
Attempts have been made to get it. A man known by the name of Smyth spent many days digging but did not find anything. Another man tried to get it but he only found an old empty pot.
The Treasure consists of gold. It is thought that the treasure is worth about two thousand pounds. There was never buried gold found in my district. But there was a purse with a little gold in it found outside the Ráthín
Fairies were often seen near where the treasure is hidden. The fairies often had people living with them. But those people never saw the treasure nor were they told the exact place(continues on next page)
