  1. Maher's field Charlesfort, Kells, Co. Meath, gets its name from a man who was killed in it when riding a horse about a hundred years ago. There is a well in the field called Maher's well and there is a cure for whooping cough and headache in it. The person must take a drink out of the well. The well is also called Tobar na Gloise or the or the Glorious well (Tobar na Glóire)
