    On New Years day the old people never, or never allow the floor to be swept out on New Year day. Neither would they sweep out the front door on a Monday morning. The ashes were not thrown out on New Years day. If this were done there would be bad luck for the year [-]
    Water is not thrown out on Hallowe'en.
    A grave is never opened in Donaghmore on Tuesday.
