- The following account of the Raheen is given by John Burry of Boyerstown, whose residence is not far from where the Raheen is.
The Raheen is an old heap of clay in a field belonging to Mr. M Beggan of Boyerstown. The heap is situated on one side of the field and it is said that it was inhabited by fairies. When the owner of the field started to dig away the Raheen his hand twisted and remained twisted for the rest of his life. No attempts have being made to remove it since.
- The Muilleen is the name of a tree in Boyerstown. In the penal days this tree was young. One night when the English soldiers were travelling they thought the tree was a man and one of the soldiers pegged a spear at it and the it went through the tree. The spear can be seen in the tree still
