- The present house is a red brick building situated on the banks of the Boyne about 400 yard from the old castle, church and graveyard of Ardmulchan.
It is owned by Fletcher and let to Sir Alexander McGuire for five years.
It was a big grey stone building, and the stones they built it with were the stones of Ardmulachan church. In the year 1900 AD Fletcher bought it, knocked the old building down, and built it with bricks.
The ancient owners of Ardmulchan were the Taffes, the last of that family that lived there was John Robert Taffe. He was the landlord for some miles around, starting at Casey's Cross roads, he owned all the land of Harristown and Ardmulchan.
