  1. At Stahalmog in the parish of Kilbeg, about eight miles from Navan, there are the ruins of an old residence now in the possession of a Miss McCormick. These ruins were used as a hospital during the Cholera. The disease took such a toll of life that a small farmer made a small fortune by taking the dead bodies of the unfortunate people in his cart for burial, using a coffin with a hinged bottom.
