  1. Some years ago there stood in the centre of Navan a beautiful cross. The cross is not there now. In its place is a pump. The pump is not used now.
    It was a custom long ago when a funeral would be passing the cross it would keep the left hand side of the cross. It would do the same when it would be going to the church. The old people kept those customs very well.
    A fragment of the cross was owned by a Mr. O'Neill. He lived where
