  1. Once upon a time a man said he would kill the Banshee if he saw her. One night as he was coming home from Oldcastle, he said he would go through the fields for a short cut.
    As he was just in the middle of the wood he heard the Banshee crying. He walked along till he saw her, when he saw her he made a jump at her. "Go home and mind your dying child," said she. When the man went home his wife came out crying and told him his child had just died.
    People say that it is better not to say anything to the banshee and it is an old
