  1. The name of my Townsland is Derrylangan. My parish is Athboy. There are fourteen families in my district. The most common name is Smyth. There is only one man over seventy in my district. They do not know Irish. Some of the houses are thatched and more are slated. They tell English stories. There are ruins of old houses in places. The land is hilly and good. There are two woods near my house. Dresoge wood; Dunne's wood.
There are no stories connected with them.
