  1. There was a little thatched Chapel on the hill of Rathcarn and a priest used to say mass there. Long ago they would give a reward for a priests head. They used to tie a priest between two horses, and when they would come to a turn of the road, they would cut the heads, legs and every piece of them off.
    There is a hole in Mr Farrelly's garden, where a priest is supposed to have hid during the Penal times.
    They said mass everywhere they went even in sheds stables and barns.
