  2. Hedge-Schools

    There was a hedge school in Trim in the year 1812. It was held in Christy Reilly's field. There was one teacher in the school for Irish and English. There were a lot of people going to the school. The teacher got his pay from the children's fathers and mothers. There was Irish and English and Aritmetic taught in the school.
