    One time there lived a man in the County Kildare. He was a great horseman. One day he bought a new horse. The next day he went out riding in the lawn. He was very proud of his new horse, and he said "I'd ride here to-day with the devil if I had him." On that instant a strange man appeared on horse, and rode beside him. They stayed together all day and had dinner together. After tea they were sitting at the fire talking. A lot of gentry came in and all the household sat down to play cards. The strange man was also among the party.
