One night when the moon was out a man was crossing the fields home. In one field he saw about a hundred fairies kicking a football. They asked him to play, and he did. They kept playing till the cocks crew and they all disappeared.
One day a man found a fairies football, and he brought it home.
That night and two nights after the fairies came to the house looking for it but he would not give it. They would keep calling for it so that he could not sleep any night. At last on the third night he gave it to them and they never disturbed him any more.
