    It is generally believed about here that there were three monasteries Donore, Killyon and Killucan on Slighe Asail and another at Clonard about 3 miles South of Donore. The monasteries of Clonard, Killyon and Donore formed a triangle each being about three miles apart. It is also believed that there were underground passages between them. One the left of the avenue going up to Killyon Manor
