    John McCormack a native of Athlone was returning home one night at 12.30 from the village.

    John to leave him home and this he did accompanied by a few others. They walked on and after some time one said "This is our parting place and in future John McCormack, work your day, sleep at night and let all good people take their flight". Then they departed and John found himself near his home where he met the funeral.

    Once upon a time there was a cook named Grethel. She used to wear shoes with red knots and she was always looking at herself and saying "You are still a fine, pretty girl". One day her master invited a guest to dinner and he told Grethel to roast two of the finest fowl for the dinner. She did as she was told, killed
