- About one hundred years ago there lived a certain man in Co Meath. He was very fond of drink. One night he stopped very late in a tavern. He became fairly drunk. On his way home he had to pass a churchyard. As he was passing through it he stumbled into an open grave. He fell asleep in it. There was a soldiers barracks nearby. Each morning a bugle was sounded. This morning it awakened the man. He thought it was the last day and that the angels were calling the people to heaven. He got up and looked about. Seeing no one but himself he was very surprised. 'Begob' he exclaimed, 'this is a poor show for Kilberry'.(continues on next page)
