  1. Kilmessan derives its name from a Saint that lived in it many years ago. He was called Saint Measa and he built a church. Most of the houses are (thatched) slated.A river divides Ringlestown and Kilmessan. It is called Arnoldstown river. Most of the houses have been built in recent years.
