  1. About twenty years ago there lived in Kilmessan a man named Matthew Sheridan. He was a great weaver and used to weave tweed cloth and linen and sell it. He lived in the middle of the village. He owned the first post-office there. He was able to weave very prettily coloured cloth.

  2. Patrick Ward Ringlestown Kilmessan makes gates, ploughs, fire cranes, hay knives, nails, grates, tongs, pot hooks, and fenders. His father and grandfather also made them. They made them of iron. That was about forty years ago.
    Patrick Boyle Ringlestown makes wheels for carts and traps he also makes furniture.
