    At the time this school was about to be built (about 1850-54) the parish priest Father Colgan went to Winter for a plot to build it on.
    The heir was not at home, he was fighting in the Crimean war which was going on at that time.
    So they could not give it till he returned.
    He was killed at the war and never returned so the plot was never given and the school had to be built where it is now hidden away at the back of the chapel.
