  1. Story of a marriage which took place in the Priest's House 1848
A young man from Garadice had arranged to marry a girl from Moynalvey. She failed to turn up at the appointed (time) so a woman who lived near the young man said "I have a little girl as good a housekeeper as ever she was." So the young man decided there and then to marry her instead and they walked across the fields to the Parochial House and were married and lived happily and reared a big family. This took place in 1848.
