My home district is Drumlargan. The townland is Drumlargan, my Parish is Coole, the Barony Upper Deece.
Drumlargan got its name :- Drumlargan means the "back of the Lorgan." Tehre is a wood in the townland called "The Lorgan." an Irish word which means "shank" or "shin" - the wood is shaped like a shank wide at the top and narrowing to a point at the end. The number of people in the neighbourthood is about 40, forty. Byrne is the most common family name. Long ago there were no less than 19 families of Byrnes(continues on next page)- Collector
