  1. Bull rushes were got and skinned. The pith was then dipped in grease which was in a Grisset and were left to dry for two or three nights in a Lasset. One was then taken out and put in a Crow's Bill and only a little was let burn at a time. A small bit of skin was left on the bottom of the rush.
